Who needs
Cars?
hara is the cargo for all those, who will transport anything by bike.
Messenger cargo bikes made in south-west germany close to freiburg. Open cargo area + stub axle steering result in a bike that carries bigger loads easier. Made by courrier experience, for the streets.

why

Twelve years of messenger work made us fall in love with cargo bikes – but it also made us realize that there is still room for improvement. Bikes tipping over because their center of gravity was too high, or the frustration trying to load some piece of furniture, which just wouldn’t fit right on that front head set is what pushed us into this project.

Some years past and a lot of time spent developing and improving, we are now building a first series of 30 in Kollnau, Baden-Württemberg.

The main advantage of hara is the combination of an open cargo area and a stup axle steering. The latter moves the head set down into the hub, which makes loading above the front wheel a lot easier – while at the same time kaing the frame construction stronger and hence lighter.

…then other cargos with stub axle steering. Several big and small manufacturers of cargo bikes have developed bicycles around this system in recent years. We decided to make our own after careful consideration. Existing designs just weren’t allowing for enough inclination on the front wheel – and that’s no fun.

  • as eco-friendly as we can

    as eco-friendly as we can

We do our best to reduce our impact. And we are trying to be transparent about it, beyond the bullshit marketing lingo. We our producing the frames with our own hands in germany and buy as many of the base products as we can from the closest possible sources.

Tthanks to thin wall steel tubing, extralight honeycomb cargo board and top-of-the-line components its a chill ride even without a motor.
